Are people telling you that HR rounds are highly uncertain? Are your friends preaching that no amount of preparation will help you crack the HR round? They aren’t right.
It is true that the HR rounds are the deal maker. Your performance in the HR round decides your employment. But because it is going to be a tough match do players refrain from practice? No right?
It is important that you be prepared for these predictable 7 questions in the HR Round.
1. Tell me something about yourself
Start with your name and where you are from. State your educational qualifications and your skills and expertise. Explain your family background in a nutshell and list out your hobbies and interests.
All of this has to be precise and comprehensive. With practice you should be able to wrap it up in 60 seconds.
2. Tell me something about your work experience
List your internship experience and projects if you are a fresher. If you had the opportunity to work before this interview, list your roles and responsibilities and the rewards, recognitions and successful completion of projects.
3. What is your biggest weakness?
State your weaknesses and supplement it with the measures and efforts you have taken to grow out of it.
4. What is your biggest strength?
State your strengths and explain how they can help you perform better in your role.
5. Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years?
Practice this well. Companies do not want people who are rigid and reluctant to learn and grow. State your ambitions in the capacity you are going to be hired to. Ensure that you are converting that you are a growth oriented person to the interviewer.
6. Why should we hire you?
Explain your willingness to learn and grow with the company. Organisations are looking for people who are coachable and open to new opinions. They are looking for people who are proactive learners and who are excited to take up new challenges to push them to level up. Make sure that you are putting forward these qualities when you answer this question.
7. What do you know about us?
Do your homework. Yes, you read that right. Do some basic research on the company. Google the name of the CEO and try asking around about the work culture at the company. It would be great if you could quote the vision and mission of the company too. It would convey your keenness in joining the company and will help you score brownie points.
